Vertshuset Skarven is where locals meet, and where visitors from near and far stop in when they visit Tromsø.
We are five restaurants and dining rooms that share a love of good ingredients and good conversation. The menus have something for every taste, and you are very welcome.

Book a tableAt Arctandria seafood restaurant at Vertshuset Skarven, seafood is the focus. We serve delicacies from the sea in Northern Norway, in a wonderful atmosphere and cosy rooms. In other words, it is the perfect place for an unforgettable meal. The menu also has options other than seafood, such as reindeer.

Book a tableBiffhuset is a restaurant with a long, proud tradition as part of Vertshuset Skarven on the waterfront in central Tromsø. For decades it has served traditional and inventive food, using local ingredients and food traditions to create genuine experiences for locals and visitors.
The place is fully licensed indoors and outdoors. You can also order dishes such as creamy fish soup, reindeer burger and fish gratin, plus freshly baked waffles and much more. Skarven Kro seats up to 140 guests.

Skarven Kro at Vertshuset Skarven is a welcoming social meeting place with a long history in Tromsø. There are events from time to time.
We have room for up to 50 guests in charming, authentic rooms, and we serve local drinks as well as international classics.

We do not take table reservations at Skarven Bar. The whole bar can be reserved for special occasions, arranged well in advance.
Skarven Bar at Vertshuset Skarven is a classic, welcoming bar for anyone who wants a good drink, often before or after eating at one of the other places at Vertshuset Skarven.
With a long table we seat 22 guests. With round tables we seat 54 guests.

Kulinarisk Teater is a private dining room that can be booked for parties of more than 20. It suits both company dinners and private gatherings when you want a memorable evening in your own room.

Vertshuset Skarven består av lidenskapelige medarbeidere som har enten har lang fartstid i servicenæringen, er helt i starten av sin yrkeskarriere eller et sted midt i mellom. Vi er stolte over å være en viktig arbeidsplass for mange mennesker i Tromsø.
Skarvens historie strekker seg helt tilbake til begynnelsen av 1900-tallet da Gerhard Hay etablert smørfabrikk (Tromsø Smørfabrik A/S) i 1908, i ei brygge under beskjedne forhold. Siden 1986 har nå Vertshuset Skarven huset et sosialt møtested med kjennskap som strekker seg langt forbi bygrensene.
Vertshuset Skarven utgjør en viktig del av restaurantgruppen Taste Tromsø, som består av lokale og autentiske serveringssteder som baserer våre globale mat- og drikkeopplevelser på nordnorske råvarer fra lokale leverandører og vår stolte historie.
